The 2010 Tax Relief Act extended the direct IRA transfer to charity rules through the end of 2011 for taxpayers who are age 70 ½ or older. Donors can transfer IRA assets of up to $100,000 per tax year directly to charitable organizations, including the Rialto Bridge Fund of the Community Foundation of Northern Colorado. The direct contribution from the IRA can be made with zero tax consequences and is counted toward the donor's required minimum distribution. To learn more on how to take advantage of this benefit, contact Community Foundation President Ray Caraway at 488-1980.

The Rialto Bridge Project will jump start the revitalization of downtown Loveland and meet the space needs of the Rialto Theater for the next half century.
First Floor: In addition to an expanded lobby area for the Theater, the front two-thirds of the Rialto Bridge building's first floor will feature a restaurant with an outdoor seating area along the sidewalk. Behind the restaurant will be a desperately-needed workshop
, staging and storage space, as well as an elevator and new restrooms for men and women.
Second Floor: The front of the second floor will feature a community room. Adjacent to the community room will be a reception area. The two spaces will be usable together or separately for meetings, community gatherings and receptions.
In the rear of the second floor will be a green room with a unisex bathroom and three private changing rooms. Finally, there will be two offices, a conference room/library, a catering kitchen and storage space. The Community Foundation of Northern Colorado will be among the community groups to make use of the new conference room, as well as one of the offices.
Third Floor: Office space owned by the private developer.
The Rialto Bridge project models a powerful collaboration, demonstrating that the City of Loveland, community philanthropy, and private investors can work together to enrich our community. The project will sustain and expand our cultural and artistic base, a key economic driver for Loveland’s economy, while investing in our downtown core. The Rialto Bridge presents an opportunity to positively impact the Loveland community—through jobs, the arts, and downtown revitalization—for the next half century.
Donations made to this project support only the public portion of the Rialto Bridge. At the conclusion of the campaign, all contributions will be transferred to the City of Loveland to cover the City’s building expenses. The Loveland Community Fund will pay for all expenses related to the Rialto Bridge Campaign Project. No contributions will be used for the private portion. All contributions are tax deductible; in addition, gifts ranging from $100 to $400,000 are eligible for a 25% Colorado Income Tax Credit due to the project's designation as a Larimer County Enterprise Zone Project. The Community Foundation of Northern Colorado will provide you with gift receipt(s) and Enterprise Zone tax credit form(s) as your gifts(s) are received.
