Why did you establish a fund?

Disabled Resource Services established an Endowment Fund with the Community Foundation to ensure long-term sustainability of our agency. Although we’re been around over 30 years, we want to make sure that the people who need us can receive the support and services we offer for many years to come.

What services does the Community Foundation provide to you?

Disabled Resource Services has easy access to the friendly and knowledgeable staff at the Foundation. We have taken advantage of financial educational seminars, its Annual Celebration of Philanthropy, investment updates and fund management. The Foundation has informed donors of Disabled Resource Services and those connections have resulted in grants from Donor Advised funds to supplement our operating budget or support specific services.

Why would you encourage others to establish a fund or learn more about the Community Foundation's mission?

The Community Foundation has a long history in our community. It is recognized as both a community leader and a community partner with strong support of nonprofit agencies. Because of its local presence, the Foundation generates awareness as a respected source for managing charitable giving.  

What value does the Community Foundation bring to our region?

The Community Foundation generates awareness on several levels. As an important local resource it cultivates donors, manages charitable giving and creates awareness about local nonprofits, their services and how they are responding to community needs.
